Post Cataract YAG Laser

Post Cataract YAG Laser

What is Post Cataract YAG Laser?

When patients undergo cataract surgery, your eye surgeon places an artificial lens in place of your natural cloudy lens (cataract). This artificial lens implant is held in the natural lens capsule. At some point after cataract surgery (months, weeks or years), this capsule can become cloudy and we call this a Posterior Capsular Opacification or PCO. If you develop a PCO, we can perform a 5 minute laser procedure in the office to make a clear opening in the cloudy capsule so that you can see clearly again.
